Healthy eating tips

Eating right can indeed help you maintain a healthy weight and all help you avoid some certain health problems.

Healthy eating is not strictly placing yourself on compulsory diet, depriving yourself of the food you love, rather it is about improving your health and having more energy to stabilize your mood, of course the food we eat has a way of affecting our mood and sense of wellbeing, it can either improve or affect our mental health.

When cutting down unhealthy foods in your diet, it is important to replace them with healthy choices, concentrate on avoiding packaged and processed food and opting for more fresh ingredients. The more healthy food you eat the more likely you are to feel better after a meal.

Also, drinking plenty of water can help flush our systems of waste products and toxins, not taking enough water can cause you to be dehydrated, tired, fatigued, low energy and headaches.

Moderation is the key to healthy eating, you must take as much food as the body requires and not excess. If after a meal you are overfed that means you have taken too much than the body actually needs.

Instead of a large plate think of taking smaller portions, take your time and stop eating before you feel full, eat slowly. Don't skip meals, eat breakfast and eat smaller meals throughout the day, we are on a mission  to tricking the brain that we are eating a lot when in actual fact it just small portions.

Cut down on your sugar intake, too much sugar can cause weight problems, diabetes. Slowly reduce the sugar by giving your taste buds sometime to adjust, avoid sugary drinks, you can take mineral water instead.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, fruit can easily fill you up and help you cut down on unhealthy foods.

Reduce your salt intake, although salt is used to enhance the taste of meal but consuming too much if it can cause high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, kidney disease and memory loss.
